Perfect for my Fish Fry

My cruise ship stopped in Eastport last year, and I walked in to Raye’s shop. Talked with the manager about a mustard I “remembered” going really well with sardines. She directed me to Down East Schooner! Wow, is my reaction not only with sardines but fried walleye and cod as well…..better than any other I’ve tried. It’s not too sharp at all, but the mustard taste comes through and enhances…as it should.

Stocking stuffer

My son likes yellow mustard. I had given him a small jar of Down East Schooner to try and he put a “restock” on his Christmas list. Told me it will be on his list for next year.

Best basic yellow mustard since my childhood

This mustard exceeded my expectations. I was careful to review the website to only order low-salt varieties, so this is the one to get for that classic American Yellow Mustard style. It reminds me of what most store-bought mustard tasted like a half century or so ago, before they started ruining their recipes with salt, bad vinegar strains, and even sugar, alongside inferior mechanical processes vs. stone ground. I have tried several dozen mustard varieties and brands over the past three decades and this is the first one I have loved, and most of the others didn't even qualify as a like!
